This course is designed for students who have either taken “Japanese for Exchange Students (Beginners' class I)” or who know sufficient basic Japanese to develop communicative competence. Students will be given the opportunity to learn about the Japanese people and their culture in order that they might be able to gain a better understanding of Japan as it really is. The homework given at every class are corrected in detail by teachers. At the end of the cemester students will make speeches in Japanese as a result of the study.　　　

The four language skills， listening， speaking， reading and writing， will be emphasized equally. Some Chinese characters (kanji) necessary in daily life will be taught.　　　


Communication skills

The lessons are designed according to the degree and request of students. The following schedule is an example when 『GENKI Ⅱ』 is used.　

Week 1　　Introduction / Review Lesson1 ~ Lesson 12

Please look up in your dictionary the new vocabulary by the next class. At least 60 minutes' self study a day will be required for the effective Japanese improvement.

Exams not done during regular exam period.　　

Students are expected to participate in all class activities including the speech in Japanese in order to receive a satisfactory grade. The grade will be based on : attendance of Japanese speech 5%，attendance 10%, homework 20%， midterm exam 30%， final exam 35%.
