The objective of this course is to acquire basic conversation skills so that students will be able to discuss sports-related issues in English.

The contents of this course will describe aspects of “major” sports in Japan as well as to compare each internationally to discover the differences and similarities in each of the fields. Topics that will be covered are: Olympic and Paralympic Games,Japanese professional baseball, and Japanese football (soccer).

Students enrolled in this course will be expected to keep updated on issues concerning international sport issues through media sources such as newspapers, TV and the internet. It is hoped that students make it a routine to seriously think about the various contemporary issues occurring around the world.
新聞やテレビ、インターネットにおける世界的なスポーツ問題をいつも追跡してほしいです。そしてその意味を常に冷静に考える習慣を身につけて下さい。 英語の勉強は毎日の継続が重要です。少しずつで良いので心掛けて下さい。 ユーチューブの積極活用もお勧めします。 教科書

成績評価の方法
Grade evaluations will be based on 1) attendance, 2) reports, and 3) class discussions.
平常の出席状況と受講態度、レポート、討論参加などを総合的に評価します。 レポート、討論、プレゼンテーション等で７０％、出席状況、受講態度等で３０％の配分で評価します。 実務経験と授業との関連
