授業内容
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the international development goals from 2016 to 2030, which was adopted by the UN Sustainable Development Summit held in September 2015 consisting of 17 goals and 169 targets in order to eradicate poverty and realize a sustainable world.
Sixty percent of GDP, eighty percent of the capital, and ninety percent of the employment are sustained by business sector (OECD.stat). The main stakeholder of SDGs should be corporations.
"Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)," "Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)" Criteria, and "Creating Shared Value (CSV)" are business abbreviations to be used in terms of SDGs.
We will explore environment and business in the following three segments. Firstly we review and look into several approaches to environment in the past as background knowledge focusing on environmental resource and human population. In the second segment, we learn laws in nature, the laws of which shape and constrain renewable ecological resource usages. In the third part, we try to draw a lesson how we can establish profitable business models in a sustainable economy in the context of SDGs.
There are no conclusive solutions expected in this hugely-spread multidimensional area, but we will try to heavily expose and address existing problems in the environment and business.
Due to the fast-paced development of the world SDGs, the contents of this lecture are subject to change (update).
