授業内容
This course provides an overview of the multifaceted topics in Sports Business management. It will be conducted by four instructors who have extensive experience in sports business. The contents will include football business in Europe, FIFA World Cup biddings, Olympic Games and details of three professional sports clubs in Hiroshima.
This course will enable students to apply the fundamental concepts of management, marketing, and finance to sport organizations. Coursework introduces cases in local, national and international level of management systems in many parts of the world. These cases include the dilemma with the conflict of politics included in the governing of the sport organizations.

Students will acquire the general knowledge and understanding of structures/issues of the global and domestic Sports Business management. Also, students will improve communication and presentation skills as well as logical and analytical thinking through several discussions and presentations in the class.

Matsunaga (1-4)
1. Introduction to the Topic and Overview of the Course.
--Capital inflow into the Major European Football Leagues which changed the platform of football business.
--The innovation of broadcasting rights of football brought by Rupard Murdock 1990’s.
2.The alteration in the platform of professional football brought by Bosman Ruling 1990〜1995.
3. Inflow of foreign capital into club ownership.
4.Widening disparity in competitiveness between clubs and the UEFA’s Financial Fair Play Policy.

Hamaguchi (5-7):
5. The East Asian Football Federation (EAFF): From its founding to today.
6. The FIFA World Cup Bid: How JFA’s passion and determination changed Japanese Football.
7. The power and influence of football’s governing bodies in the world.

Hayashi (8-10):
The distinctive characteristics of three major professional sports in
Hiroshima from historical and administrative point of view.

Four instructors above have profound business experiences in the following area and picked up above themes to be studied, according to the actual business which they were actually involved in.
・Matsunaga served for Japan Football Association as the Director of Intenational Relations and has expertise in football Business from the financial aspect.
・Hamaguchi served for the Dentsu Group which is Giant of Advertising Agency in Japan and Asia and was deeply involved in the epoch-making football events in the world.
・Hayashi also served for Dentsu Group and was in charge of the sports marketing business both in Europe and Japan.
・Yoshikawa worked for the organizing committee of 1984 Los Angeles Olympics Games and was also involved in the bid activities of Olympic Games and Youth Olympic Games
