授業内容：
皆さんはこのまま今までの自分で終わるのは嫌だ、もっと広い世界を知りたいと思ったことはありませんか。この授業では、日本人学生と本学で学ぶ外国人留学生を引き合わせ、お互いにいろいろな物の見方を学び、各自の世界を広げてもらいます。語学面では最小限のサポートはしますが、ことば以外のコミュニケーションも充分可能です。外国人と友達になりたいのに、語学力に自信がないのであきらめていたという人もぜひ参加してみてください。グループワークの課題については、授業中に教員からフィードバックを行います。

授業方法：
（１）自分の文化または他者の文化にまつわるアクティビティを企画・実施する。
（２）異文化コミュニケーション理論を学び、実践する。
（３）自分の文化または他者の文化についてのプレゼンテーションを制作する。　

[Have you ever thought about learning the differences of other cultures and widening your horizons? This course will bring together Japanese students (who speak very little English) and international students (who speak very little Japanese) into one class. Students will find ways to actively communicate and understand each other while engaging in the following group assignments: 1) planning an "activity" that is related to the group members" cultures; 2) learning about intercultural communication theory and how to put it into practice; 3) making a presentaion that is related to the other's culture.]

アクティビティーのたびに教員と学生の双方による評価を行います。

本授業は、興動館科目の４つのフィールドの内、共生力に分類される授業である。身につく力としてコミュニケーション能力、協働して成し遂げる力、斬新な発想をする力等です。到達目標は以下の通りです。
（１）自分たちの視点からいったん離れて、他の国の人々の視点に立つ。（他者を知る）
（２）他の国の人々の視点を通して、自分たちについての理解を深める。（自分を知る）　
（３）自他の違いを乗り越えて、積極的にコミュニケーションを図る力を養う。（共生力を育む）　

[This course focuses on developing skills in improving communication skills, developing skills in working together and team building, and developing skills in presenting innovative ideas. The following learning outcomes will be stressed:
1) Try to move from ethnocentric attitudes to ethnorelative attitudes;
2) Try to understand yourself by understanding others;
3) Try to develop skills in working together through active communication and understanding of others' differences.]

国籍別に分かれた各グループで、インターナショナル・フードフェスタの企画・準備をしましょう。

[1) Discovering ways to communicate with each other; mixing members into separate groups;
2) Planning and preparing for a Food Festival;
3) International Food Festival;
4) Promoting international exchange through sports;
5) Forming new groups; planning and preparing field work on MIyajima Island that promotes intercultural understanding;
6) Presenting on the field work activity done on Miyajima Island;
7) Relfecting and discussing about the field work activity on Miyajima Island;
8) Studying about interncultural commication theory and intercultural competencies needed for global-orientation;
9) Forming new groups; planning and preparing for an interncultural communication topic using comparitive examples among the members of each group (deciding on the topic and contents);
10) Developing the content of the intercultural communication topic of two other groups (inserting new (different) perspectives into the other groups' topic);
11) Adopting and developing the new ideas and different perspectives given by the other groups and completing the PPT presentation;
12) PPT presentations (groups 1-3);
13) PPT presentations (groups 4-6);
14) Learning about and reflecting on the significance of groupwork and teambuiling;
15) Reflecting and summarizing; thinking about the future.

興動館科目の「共生力」区分のすべての科目。
[All courses in the KODOKAN Course Curriculum related to the promotion of "harmony" and developing skills for group work.]

この授業は、興動館科目の「共生力フィールド」の授業です。毎回、共生力フィールドの達成目標を意識して授業に臨んでください（①他者を共感的に理解する力を持つ、②豊かな自己表現力を持つ）。　授業内でグループ作業を行うために、個人（またはグループ）単位での授業外での準備が不可欠です。授業外の準備には毎週60分程度必要です。
[Group work and presentation require research and preparation time outside of class (approximately 15-20 hours).]

教科書は使用しません。必要なものがあれば、授業でその都度指示します。

この授業では以下のような成績評価基準を設けています。

１）授業参加・ディスカッションと受講態度…20％
２）アクティビティにおける貢献と達成…50％
３）レポート…30％

なお、２）の「貢献」については、教員の評価に加えて、同じチームの学生（日本人・外国人双方）から評価も考慮に入れます。「達成」については、それぞれのグループが作り上げたイベントやプレゼンテーションが、教員から示される基準を満たしているかどうかで判断します。プレゼンテーション等に関するフィードバックはその都度行います。

[Grade evaluation will be calculated using the following scores:
1) Class participation and discussion: 20%;
2) Contribution evaluation for planning and preparation of three presentations (individual evaluations), and evaluation of overall group work (group evaluations): 50%;
3) Self-evaluation report on overall performance in class: 30%.]
*Feedback and evaluation of presentations will be given immediately after presentations are given.

定員を30名とします。セメスターの中間で一度、週末を用いてのアクティビティの回があります。　

興動館科目では、あなたの人間力の成長を記録するために、ふりかえりと分かち合いを重視した「人間力チェックシート」を作成していただきます。

[1) This course will limit student enrollment to 30 students; 2) Students will be required to fill in a progress report (at the beginning, middle and end of course) to evaluate the (personal) development of intercultural competency and team building.]
