The objective of this course is to acquire basic conversation skills so that students will be able to discuss sports-related issues in English.

The contents of this course will describe aspects of “major” sports in Japan as well as to compare each internationally to discover the differences and similarities in each of the fields. Topics that will be covered are: Olympic and Paralympic Games,Japanese professional baseball, and Japanese football (soccer).

Students enrolled in this course will be expected to keep updated on issues concerning international sport issues through media sources such as newspapers, TV and the internet. It is hoped that students make it a routine to seriously think about the various contemporary issues occurring around the world.
新聞やテレビ、インターネットにおける世界的なスポーツの話題を好奇心旺盛に常に追跡してほしい。 英語等の語学の勉強は毎日の継続が重要、少しずつで良いので毎日続ける。 ユーチューブ等の積極活用もお勧め。 教科書

成績評価の方法
Grade evaluations will be based on 1) attendance, 2) reports, and 3) class discussions.
定期試験60％ 授業への参加度、レポート、討論参加など40％で評価。 実務経験と授業との関連
実社会で英語の必要性に迫られた時にはこの授業体験が役立つ。
