成績評価の方法
Presentations and research papers are based on topics relevant to the course. The paper must be between 2,000 and 3,000 words. Suggested paper topics will be handed out at the beginning of the semester. Presentations will be given mid-semester so students should choose their topic as soon as possible. For presentations, students will choose a topic, become the in-house expert, and will provide brief readings (summaries) on the topic for the entire class to read as preparation for their presentation. After your presentation you are responsible for stimulating and leading a discussion around the chosen topic. Students will receive feedback within one week on their presentations, and evaluations and comments on their research papers shortly after the last class session.
Because of the ease with which the internet allows plagiarism, the paper must be adequately and fully annotated (notes and sources). All points made in the presentation must be fully annotated and sourced. (Please be aware that Wikipedia is not to be used as a source for your papers. There are too many inaccuracies and biases to be reliable. Plagiarism is, of course, unacceptable. In order to show your understanding and mastery of the material you are required to write in your own words)
Grades will be determined as follows:
-Research Paper 40%
-Presentation 30%
-Class Participation 30%
